The third week of January is often said to be the most depressing time of the year… And although science says otherwise, we’ll take any excuse to surround ourselves with things that make us happy – family, friends and a bit of retail therapy!

Nail art has hit the mainstream and we love the looks designed by essie Canada’s Lead Nail Artist, Rita Remark at World MasterCard Fashion Week. [Cosmetics Magazine]

We fell in love with Bourbon in 2012 and we don’t plan on ending this affair anytime soon. Winter 2013 and it’s keeping us warm on the rocks.  Looking ahead we can expect some Wild Turkey 81 cocktails on a summer patio and a rustic sip or two in the fall. [Wedding Bells]

Pantone's Colour of the Year: Emerald

With every new year comes a much-needed fresh start. From purging the songs we don’t listen to from our playlists to the much needed editing of our wardrobes, we’re finally getting around to starting anew in 2013. With the helpful eye of Pantone, this year is already looking lively, radiant, and lush (in their words!). Forecasting the colour of the year as emerald, Pantone, practically a global colour authority by now, has given us the perfect excuse to update out 2012 inventory of hues. Ushering a sense of harmony and well-being, emerald seems like the perfect choice for an exciting and balanced year. We’ve gathered some of our favourite items below!

SKYY Vodka Holiday Glogg

Because: This recipe is a holiday party essential; not only is it easy to make but it is a guaranteed party pleaser!

Ingredients:

12 oz. SKYY Vodka

1 bottle dry red wine

1.5 tbsp mulling spices

1 tsp fresh orange zest

2 tbsp sugar

2 tbsp blanched almonds

4 tbsp raisins

Instructions: Wrap mulling spices in cheesecloth. In a large saucepan combine wine, SKYY Vodka, orange zest, spices and sugar. Simmer on medium heat for 30 minutes.  Discard mulling spices. Add raisins and almonds into the bottom of each glass. Pour into glass and enjoy!
