Wow! IT’s really happening! Will update you later, but wanted to share
some pics in the middle of our office transformation.

Happy Tuesday!
I know in previous posts I’ve shared some of my festival survival tips, but ever since sitting in the “trenches” with the rest of the incredible, hard-working and amazing team members I’ve realized that they have some interesting strategies for getting through the next few weeks, so I felt like I should share them.
HOW NKPR EMPLOYEES GET THROUGH FESTIVAL
How are you going to get through the festival? Join the conversation @natashankpr. Also, I’ve upped the Twitter ante- for every new @natashankpr follower, I will make a $5 donation to Artists for Peace and Justice. It’s never been easier to help Haiti!

Happy Labour Day everyone!
Besides no longer being allowed to wear white (which was never a real issue for me!), labour day marks another timeline of importance- the IT Lounge is almost here! We just had our big team meeting overviewing all of our initiatives for the next two weeks- and let me tell you, there are a lot!
What are some of my festival survival tips? How am I preparing for the whirlwind two weeks coming up? My most memorable TIFF party to date? Read all about it here in an interview I did with SheDoesTheCity.
With all the excitement coming up in the next few weeks, it’s so important to remember the people less fortunate than us who need our help. I know I have been signing off all of my blog posts with this, but I really urge you to follow @natashankpr and encourage your followers to do the same. Did you know that half of Haiti’s 900 million+ population lives off of less than $1/day? For every new follower, I will donate $1 to Artists for Peace and Justice. It’s a simple way that you and your friends can make a difference in the lives of Haitians. Every follow counts and will contribute to making a really worthwhile difference… it’s social media for the power of good!
Hope you had a great long weekend!

The billboard is up, the furniture is being moved and the appointments are being booked- we’re T-Minus 6 days to the IT Lounge and I’m excited! The energy is so positive and you can feel the buzz in the air. Can you tell I love festival season?
So as most of you know, from September 9th to September 15th, our offices are being transformed into the IT Lounge, a celebrity gifting suite that gives back much more than IT gives out. Fortunately (or possibly unfortunately to my team), my office was the first to be deconstructed, which meant I moved in to “the trenches” with the rest of the office.
Some key learnings from sitting in “the trenches”:
-People don’t love me blasting my music at 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon
-Rather than grabbing someone’s attention from across the room, I’ve learned that the appropriate etiquette is to call someone’s extension
-Even better than calling someone’s extension is to respond to their iChat messages
-Once it becomes late afternoon, someone will mention food and then everyone stops what they’re doing to contribute to the discussion of what everyone should have as a snack (today it was leftover pizza and ice cream sandwiches)
-That no matter how busy everyone is right now, I work with the most fun, exciting and energetic team ever
I think I won’t mind not having an office for the next few days…
Before I sign out, I want to remind everyone about our Follow for a Cause campaign. For every new @natashankpr follower until September 15th, I will donate $1 to Artists for Peace and Justice to help fund schools in Haiti.
Have a great weekend!

With a lifelong passion for entertainment, Cheryl Hickey has dazzled audiences since she was born. With a start in radio, Cheryl made the jump to on-camera, working as a host for the New VR Station, and Global Television, covering a wide variety of beats. While at Global, she co-created her own documentary around TIFF, which led to her appointment of host for Entertainment Tonight Canada, interviewing the highest-profile celebrities across the globe, including George Clooney and Oprah. In addition to her television work, Cheryl has a deep commitment to philanthropy and the support of children’s causes, lending her support as host for several high-profile charitable events across the country. As a passion project, and inspired by wanting the best for her family, Cheryl also created a skincare line, OURS by Cheryl Hickey, which is a line of safe, healthy and honest skincare products carried exclusively at Rexall.
My official countdown to IT Lounge 2010!
Yah!!! I’m so excited, there are only 15 days left until the opening of the IT Lounge, our annual celebrity-gifting suite. This year is going to be our biggest and best Lounge yet and I’ll tell you why…
1) 5 Years, 15 Brands, 1 Cause and IT’s happening downtown
This is a milestone year for NKPR. We are not only celebrating our fifth successful year hosting the IT Lounge but, we are also making a leap into the heart of the festival action by moving our Lounge into our sleek new office on Adelaide Street West. We will now be located only a block from the Festival’s new headquarters and the hub of all the festival activities at the Bell Lightbox!
2) We Set the Scene
In partnership with star designer Yanic Simard and his Toronto Interior Design Group, we are transforming our NYC loft-style office into the ultimate pop-up store experience for celebrities!
Simard and his team have used their expertise and vision to create the perfect space to host each of the featured brands in the Lounge, including an entire room devoted to Fila that will allow celebrities to kick-back, listen to live music and check out key fashion apparel, footwear and accessories from the brands Fall 2010 collection.
In addition to our new IT Lounge space, we haven’t forgotten everyone making their way uptown during the festival! NKPR has reserved our original room on the second floor of the Windsor Arms to act as a hub for the media, celebrities and publicists needing to relax, escape and nosh on Windsor Arms goodies, while catching a taste of the IT Lounge before they head back downtown for the full experience!
3) We want YOU to win IT!
All of our celebrity guests will be taking home featured products from Andrea Professionals, Ardell Lashes, Stila Cosmetics, Fila, Moroccanoil, Esprit, RW&CO., Sharpie, Goody, Dagmar Jewellery, Kobo eReader, Diane Lai skin care line, and enjoying FIJI Water and Baker Street desserts.
This year YOU can too:
Step 1: Visit our official IT Lounge website, click the contest tab and enter your email address.
Step 2: Follow me on Twitter to find out which featured IT Lounge items will be given away each day for the 15 days leading up to the Lounge.
Giveaways start today…. What are you waiting for?! @natashankpr
4) Giving IT Back
This year our IT Lounge charitable partner is Artists for Peace and Justice. I love the idea that this Lounge gives us an opportunity to make a difference and we can really give back as much as we give out!
Want to Help?
It is as easy as following me @natashankpr.
For every new person that follows me between August 26th and September 15th NKPR will donate one dollar to Artists for Peace and Justice!

This Friday, Ford model Lane Carlson will paddle a grueling 28-mile, six-hour course along the Hudson River as part of the SEAPaddle NYC fundraising event, an alliance committed to the preservation and protection of the environmental and cultural elements that are inherent to the sport of surfing.
Featured in high-profile campaigns for Armani, Abercrombie and Fitch, UGG and Phillips Van Heusen, Lane is a dedicated philanthropist and for every mile that he paddles, he will be raising funds and awareness for Surfers Environmental Alliance and Autism Awareness. Post-paddle, Lane will be dealt in for the Texas Hold ‘Em charity Poker event to benefit Sunflower Children, established in 2004 to help disadvantaged youth around the world overcome the burden of poverty and disease so that they can focus on their education.
What Lane is doing is so inspiring! I love that he is using his platform as a Ford model to give back to the global community- it’s so important that we all do what we can for charity.
