Wrapping up MOvember, NKPR style!

Posted on

November is almost over, which means that MOvember is, too! Everyone at the office thought that it would be a fitting tribute to this moustachy prostate cancer fundraiser to take part. But, considering that much of my staff is female, well, you can imagine that we had to get a bit creative.

Have a great weekend!

My new favourite snack is also my new favourite commercial

Posted on

Do you remember hearing about that Wonderful® Pistachio campaign that aired in the U.S.? The one with all those different celebrities cracking open pistachios in hilarious ways? Well, we’ve finally got it here in Canada! “Get Snackin’” will start airing tonight and features Snooki from Jersey Shore, NFL Cincinnati Bengals player Chad Ochocinco, YouTube’s Keyboard Cat, Wee-Man from Jackass 3-D, and Charlie Brown and Lucy from Peanuts. The commercials will air during prime-time shows like Big Bang Theory, Grey’s Anatomy, CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada, House… But if you’re like me and you want to watch them now (and share them with your friends), visit www.getsnackin.ca and follow Wonderful Pistachios on Twitter.

By the way, my staff is going crazy for the new Salt & Pepper flavour. I’ve been stepping on empty shells for a week! 🙂

P.S. Snooki was in our office this morning (well, “pretend” Snooki). She gave out Wonderful Pistachios to lucky Toronto snackers!

Gossip Girl at NKPR?

Posted on

Spotted at NKPR: Six Blairs dressed to kill, a handful of Serenas sipping on Stella Artois, one Little J ducking the paparazzi and Chuck making all of them swoon.

I know that I photo-blogged on Wednesday, too, but it’s just been such an incredible week for clothes at our office! Today was Fashion Friday, a tradition that Marissa and Kaley invented so we all have an excuse to dress up at work. Brilliant, no? Today’s theme was Gossip Girl (obviously) and wow! — did my staff ever make me proud! Special thanks to Goody for the Luxe Headbands!

My staff + RW&CO. = HOT!

Posted on

If you follow this blog, you know that my staff is a bit fashion crazy! Today, everyone was rocking their favourite looks from RW&CO. so we improvised a lo-fi fashion shoot and it ended up turning out pretty great! Do I have the best looking staff or what? Five supermodels and a hand model? How many other PR firms can say that? 🙂

What RW&CO. looks do you love? Tweet me your pics attwitter.com/natashankpr.

P.S. Click on the photo and zoom in for an even better view!

A blog post about blog posts

Posted on

There is no shortage of amazing blogs to read on the Internet. I’ve spent too many hours to count scrolling through pages and pages, but how can I resist? My staff couldn’t agree with me more. They are huge fans of blogs, too, and we have frequent debates in the office about which ones are best. So here they are, in no particular order, the World of Blogs According to NKPR:

Jordan: Best Health “I love it b/c it is the perfect blend of fun and facts – keeps me in the loop and I get to have fun while reading it too!!!”

Kaley: manrepeller.com “Yeshiva chic, DIY turbans and obviously Karl’s Chewbacca.”

Andre: lifehacker.com “Because there are always tools and software to tinker with and they’ve got the best tech tips.”

Lisa: perezhilton.com “It’s a guilty pleasure – there’s always something new every time you check.”

Jeannette: thingsithinkarefunny.net “It’s my favourite blog because of the style of humour, which is earnest, funny and easy to relate to. I’m also a personal friend of the blogger’s. ;-)”

Rebecca: www.thingsIthinkarefunny.net “It’s my favourite because i wrote it.”

Emily: The Rejecter “Because I get rejected a lot. I would mention my own blog, but I’m not in to shameless self promotion like some people in this office who are named Rebecca. For fashion and beauty, I love the blogs on Sweetspot.”

Andrea: apartmenttherapy.com “So I can spy on other people and look at their apartments and how they decorate them. It is better than watching the real estate channel. And this one just because: www.coolhunting.com/culture/

Dzeneta: ffffound.com “No reading required.”

And as for me, aside from this blog :), my current faves are 29 secretsBeauty GeeksCompendium DailyHappy Face and www.thingsIthinkarefunny.net

Holiday Magic in Yorkville!

Posted on

What are you doing this Saturday? If you’re getting excited about the holidays (like me!) you should stop by Bloor-Yorkville (in Toronto) for the kick-off of Holiday Magic, the festival that transforms the whole neighbourhood into a holiday wonderland!

The official “flick the switch” ceremony is happening in the Village of Yorkville Park at Cumberland Street and Bellair Street. The festivities start at 5 p.m. AND include a performance by Juno-nominated R&B artist Ivana Santilli! And it’s free! Afterwards, I highly suggest strolling through Bloor-Yorkville and taking in the gorgeous storefront windows – Holt Renfrew is always my favourite! Oh, and there are free cookies and hot drinks, too.

If you can’t make it to the kick-off, the lights will be up from November 20 through January 2011.

Happy Holiday Magic!

Comfort food that’s good for me?

Posted on

This time of year, I’m drawn to comfort foods, things that make me think warm thoughts! Too often, that means lunches and dinners that are less than healthy. I was talking about this the other day — okay maybe I was complaining just a bit — then one of my staff reminded me about all the great recipe ideas that we have around the office thanks to At My Best.

At My Best is a health and wellness program for children developed by AstraZeneca Canada and Physical & Health Education Canada. But they have tons of ideas that adults can use, too, like healthy recipes that are perfect for this time of year. Here’s one that I’m going to try: Fruit and Nut Couscous with Warm Chicken and Lemon-Cinnamon Dressing. It’s from celebrity chef Anthony Sedlak and it only takes 10 minutes to make! For the recipe, just click here.

If you try it, tweet me about it. And if you have any other suggestions for quick and easy fall recipes, tweet me about those, too!
